For maximum effect I put a four hour or five hour break in between my chin up workouts everyday. And I eat above average amounts of protein powder, and chicken. That’s how I’m getting great gains in my late fifties. Admit it, you’re pretty impressed if a 6 foot tall 200 pound man is doing chinups. And you would sleep that much too if you also ate that much protein powder and chicken, laced with jelly or jam to get it down.
